Grammar Terms:
action verb: The part of speech showing action. (run, skip, think, dance.)
linking verb (or state of being verb): a verb showing emotion or a state of being. It also LINKS the subject to an adjective or noun. (I am happy. I was cold. The kids are excited. The coat will be dirty.)
present tense: The tense in writing that is occurring in present time. (I walk to school.)
past tense: The tense in writing that already occurred in the past: (I walked to school)
future tense: The tense in writing that will occur in the future. (I will walk to school.)
